睡眠是人類生存的必要條件,然而,獲得安穩的睡眠卻是一個常見的問題。有三分之一的成年人達不到建議的睡眠量,從而導致許多問題的產生,從身體疾病到心理與認知障礙、工作出席率低,以及日常生活經常受到干擾。生命早期發生的創傷經歷會對健康產生終身影響,包括睡眠障礙和睡眠不足。隨著COVID-19的出現,美國和世界各地的人們被迫隔離,打亂從前建立的行為模式、以及與他人的日常往來以及規律的睡眠習慣。在大流行病的壓力之下,能夠透過睡眠恢復身體、情緒和精神狀態變得更加重要,但也更為困難。醫療照護專業人員正為病人的治療尋求替代方案,以達成健康的睡眠模式。將音樂納入其中,對這個長久存在的問題而言,可能是個有幫助的選擇,因為音樂很容易取得,並且可依個人品味作個別化調整。此外,使用音樂也符合成本效益,避免額外支出,也免除了嚴重副作用的風險。本文的重點是解釋音樂如何影響睡眠並提供建議,透過有意識地運用音樂和音樂治療優化睡眠模式。
