Les effets de la musique sur le sommeil

Résumé

Le sommeil est essentiel à la survie de l'homme, pourtant les problèmes pour obtenir un sommeil réparateur et régulier sont communs. Un adulte sur trois n'atteint pas la quantité de sommeil recommandée, ce qui entraîne souvent une myriade de problèmes, de la maladie physique aux troubles mentaux et cognitifs, une mauvaise assiduité au travail et des perturbations fréquentes dans la vie quotidienne. Les expériences traumatisantes qui surviennent tôt dans la vie peuvent avoir des répercussions sur la santé tout au long de la vie, y compris les troubles du sommeil et le sommeil insuffisant. Avec l'arrivée du COVID-19, des personnes aux États-Unis et dans le monde entier ont été contraintes de se mettre en quarantaine, perturbant ainsi des schémas de comportement, d'engagement quotidien avec les autres et des habitudes de sommeil régulées précédemment établis. La capacité de rajeunir l'état physique, émotionnel et mental par le sommeil est devenue plus importante mais aussi plus difficile dans le stress de la pandémie. Les professionnels de la santé recherchent d'autres options pour le traitement des patients en vue d'obtenir des habitudes de sommeil saines. L'inclusion de la musique peut être une option contribuant à ce problème permanent car elle est facilement accessible et peut être personnalisée en fonction des goûts individuels. Elle est rentable, évite les coûts et évite le risque d'effets secondaires graves. L'objectif de cet article est d'expliquer comment la musique peut avoir un impact sur le sommeil et d'offrir des suggestions pour optimiser les habitudes de sommeil par une application consciencieuse de la musique et de la musicothérapie.
