臨床兒童牙科中的音樂應用:75 年來之文獻回顧

摘要

音樂是一種透過有組織的聲響、噪音與寂靜對神經迴路產生聲學刺激的形式,其在神經學、心理學、生理學、認知與情緒層面皆有深遠影響。在臨床兒童牙科(Clinical Pediatric Dentistry, CPD)中,音樂可作為一種行為引導的手段技術,以及作為適應牙科感官環境中的組成元素,有助於轉移兒童的注意力以順利提供治療。音樂作為多感官介入方式,具有抗焦慮、鎮痛與麻醉之作用,可補足傳統非藥物行為引導技術的不足。音樂治療(Music Therapy, MT)在臨床兒童牙科領域中值得關注,因為它能補足藥物性行為引導技術的諸多限制,包括其高昂的成本、侷限性,以及不明確性。然而,即便是專業音樂治療師亦可能難以理解音樂治療於兒童牙科中的實際運作方式,在牙科治療中,為了引導處於痛苦狀態的兒童表現出正向行為而讓其配戴耳機並接受聽覺刺激,此作法的合理性,有賴對現有文獻進行科學性的回顧與說明。

Dr Balraj Shukla is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India. He is currently a PhD scholar in the field of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. Furthermore, he is also a life member of the Indian Music Therapy Association.
