Résumé

Trois avantages thérapeutiques principaux d'un petit groupe de musicothérapie utilisant la méthode d'improvisation libre sont présentés et discutés. Une description détaillée de la façon dont la méthode d'improvisation libre a été structurée et utilisée est présentée. Les trois principaux avantages : l'expression des sentiments, l'intégration du corps et de l'esprit, et le développement des compétences sociales sont expliqués. La thèse principale de cet article est de suggérer que le fait d'aborder ces avantages ensemble peut contribuer à améliorer la santé mentale et le comportement des patients.

Laura Foxx, NYU Langone Health

Laura Foxx is a board-certified music therapist and musician in New York City (traditional Lenape and Canarsie territories). She currently works at NYU Langone Health, facilitates creative arts therapy sessions in private practice, and contracts with community organizations to provide a wide-range of accessible music therapy groups. Foxx’s experiences in medical, forensic, and community health settings have shaped her therapeutic approach to uphold healing justice principles.
