近年來,音樂治療介入在退伍軍人和軍事人員的創傷及創傷後壓力症候群治療文獻中得到越來越多的關注。本文的目的是界定出創傷治療和創傷後壓力症候群所使用的主要音樂治療介入,以滿足退伍軍人和軍事人員廣泛而複雜的需求。為了持續發展針對這個獨特族群的高品質音樂治療標準,本文探討了臨床原理和理論基礎,因此,本調查提出了三個研究問題。這些問題的設計是為了確認治療的效果和可信度,並再次強調了解必要的理論基礎之重要性,以傳達和驗證以創傷為中心的音樂治療實務。本分析的研究問題如下 (a) 在治療退伍軍人和軍事人員的創傷和創傷後壓力症候群中使用的主要音樂治療介入是什麼? (b) 運用這些界定出的音樂治療介入時是否提供理由或依據?(c) 對於所選用的音樂治療介入,是否有任何基本原理作為理論基礎,包括音樂、治療、音樂治療和/或創傷理論?
