מאמר זה יתייחס לניתוח מפורט של ההתפתחות של תכנית הקלטות רב-תרבותית שתוכננה כדי לתמוך בצרכים של מטופלים פליאטיביים ומטפליהם. אנו מציעים שהתהליך שהתפתח ויצר גוף גדול של הקלטות רב-תרבותיות יכול להוות השראה לפרויקטים רב-תרבותיים בתחומים אחרים כגון סביבות רפואיות, בהקשרים מוזיקליים ולא-מוזיקליים. היבטים שונים של התהליך השיתופי הזה יכולים להיות לעזר לקידומן של יוזמות עתידיות שמצריכות רגישות תרבותית, ענווה תרבותית, ושיתוף בין-תרבותי. בהיותו ניתוח רטרוספקטיבי, מוגבל ההיקף של המאמר הזה לבחינת התהליכים שיושמו, ניתוחי ההמשך והלקחים שנלמדו. כיוונים למחקרי המשך אפשריים כוללים מחקרים הבוחנים את היעילות של גוף העבודות המוזיקליות שהוקם למען מטופלים המקבלים טיפול פליאטיבי ומטפליהם.

Aaron Lightstone is a Toronto based music therapist, composer, producer and performing artist. Lightstone’s breadth of experience as a music therapist in Canada’s multicultural epicenter has provided him with first-hand knowledge of the need for diverse music in healthcare settings. Lightstone’s professional music career is centered around Toronto’s vibrant world music community. As a result, Lightstone has developed meaningful musical relationships with artists from across the globe

Justin Grayis a Toronto based music professor, producer, educator, composer, recording engineer and performing artist. Gray is also an ethnomusicology PhD candidate. Embedded in Toronto’s world music scene, Gray regularly produces and performs alongside musicians from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. These two recording artists both have considerable experience in performing and composing in a wide range of global musical forms

Bev Foster

Bev Foster is the founder and executive director of the Room 217 Foundation, a health arts organization improving the culture of care with music, Ontario, Canada.
